The Produce Quality Centre (PQC)
combines the technical expertise of both organisations to work to ensure food security and minimise waste throughout the fresh produce supply chain.
 

NRI manages projects across the globe, delivering research, advice, teaching and training in support of global food security, sustainable development  and poverty reduction.

NIAB EMR is the leading fruit research institute in the UK, conducting strategic and applied research in horticultural and environment sciences and delivering knowledge, products and services that benefit public and private customers.

The focus of the PQC is on optimising both pre-harvest and postharvest factors to improve the storage and quality of produce throughout the supply chain (from producer to plan), in order to increase consumer choice, improve energy and transport efficiency, improve quality and nutrition, reduce waste and extend availability.
